…proudly announce Drama Class!
A weekly after-school drama class culminating in a full-scale theatrical production of Grease: School Edition at the conclusion of the term. Shorter and more suitable in content for students, this abridged version retains the fun-loving spirit and immortal songs that make GREASE a favorite among rock and roll fans of all ages.
* In addition to rehearsing for the performance, students will gain knowledge of basic drama skills including stage directions, improvisation, pantomime, emotions, character, and more!

Let’s get “Together” and dance…
PTA is hosting our first fall dance Friday, October 22nd from 7 – 10 pm. Patapsco students only. Admission is $3. Tickets go on sale during lunch October 19th – 21st. Parental/guardian permission form required with purchase. (permission form can be picked up in front office or downloaded here). HCPSS dress and conduct codes apply. No monitored coat/cell phone holding area available. Parents are welcome to stay for a chance to mingle in the cafeteria.
The dance won’t happen without you!

- Set up decorations 5 – 6:30 pm 3 people needed
- Set up concession items October 22nd 6 pm to 7 pm 2 people needed
- Sell Concessions 7 – 10 pm hourly shifts available 4 people (cafeteria)
- Hall Monitor 7-10 pm hourly shifts available 5-6 people needed
- Cafeteria Chaperones 7 – 10 pm hourly shifts available 2 people needed
- Dance Floor Chaperones 7 – 10 pm hourly shifts up to 12-15 people needed (Dads especially appreciated)
- Clean up 9:30 pm – 10:30 pm 2 people

Back to School Staff Breakfast 9/8
Hello Everyone and Welcome Back to School!
As with every back to school season, the Patapsco PTA Hospitality Committee is getting ready for another jam packed year. Our first piece of business this year is the Back to School Breakfast for the staff. Since this is being held before school, we will provide a more ”Grab & Go” Buffet. The date is Wednesday, September 8th from 6:50am-7:50am. If anyone is able to help set-up or clean-up please let me know.
We are looking for the following items:

Staff Luncheon June 21st…donations and volunteers needed!
On Monday, June 21st the PTA’s Hospitality Committee will host our final staff luncheon for the 2009-2010 school year.
We have had such an overwhelmingly generous outpouring of donations and volunteering from our Patapsco families. It is only fitting that we showcase our families for an International Feast.
We are looking for as many native dishes as possible. These can be made individually or in groups. With each dish, please provide the following:
* The name of the dish with ingredients listed
* Information or symbol (ex. Flag) about your heritage

8th Grade Dance: Tuesday, June 22th 7PM – 10PM
The 8th grade dance has become a Patapsco Middle School tradition in which the school, PTA and 8th grade parents all play a part in planning the dance. This year the theme is a Mardi Gras celebration with the flavor of New Orleans! The PTA will purchase the hot food items but parent donations are needed for the snacks. If you can help with any of the items listed below, please complete the tear-off form and have your child give it to his or her first period teacher as soon as possible to help with our planning. You will be contacted to confirm your contribution.
Food contributions should be brought to the front office of the school before dismissal on Monday, June 21st. Please label your donation “8th Grade Dance.” Financial contributions can be sent in to the school in an envelope marked “8th Grade Dance” at any time prior to June 12th. Please have your child give the envelope to his or her first period teacher.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in making the final 8th grade event a success.

Beach Blast – 6/16
The next annual PTA sponsored Beach Blast will be held June 16th from 6:30-8:30PM on the school grounds.
There will be a DJ, games, prizes, free snowballs and more!
There will be a volunteer meeting for anyone interested in helping with this event on Monday, April 26th from 7-8PM in the Media center.
